Adventures with Hugo!

This is my very first post on this blog - welcome!

This isn’t my first time using Hugo, but it’s been a few years so I’m a little rusty with it. I’m excited to get started again! I love the simplicity of Hugo, it suits me for a personal blog where I’ll likely not do much but dump random thoughts and information. It’s also costing me nothing to host (thanks Netlify!) so that’s always a big plus.

I’m still in the tinkering phase right now, so things might break a little here and there for a while. I’m using Obsidian to write my posts with, which I’m loving, but may have to look into a way of automating the process a little, rather than having to manually copy / paste the files. Not that doing that is a hardship, but I am quite lazy!

My rough plans for this site is somewhere to put links I want to save, a place to post on whatever subject takes my fancy and also somewhere to experiment with Hugo. I’ve never really taken it past the basics, I really should learn how to do more with it. So basically this is my own little space to do pretty much whatever I want, in the way I want and on the subjects I want.

I don’t expect too many people will actually read it, but that’s ok, that’s not why I put it together!
