Adventures with Hugo!

Published by Jackie Plage2 min read

This is my very first post on this blog—welcome!

This isn't my first time using Hugo, but it's been a few years so I'm a little rusty with it. I'm excited to get started again! I love the simplicity of Hugo; it suits me for a personal blog where I'll likely just dump random thoughts and information. It's also costing me nothing to host (thanks Netlify!), which is always a big plus.

The Tinkering Phase

I'm still in the tinkering phase right now, so things might break a little here and there for a while. I'm using Obsidian to write my posts, which I'm loving, but I may have to look into a way of automating the process a little, rather than manually copying and pasting files. Not that doing that is a hardship, but I am quite lazy!

Rough Plans for the Site

My rough plans for this site involve:

  • A place to put links I want to save.
  • A space to post on whatever subject takes my fancy.
  • Somewhere to experiment with static site generators.

I've never really taken things past the basics; I really should learn how to do more. So basically, this is my own little space to do pretty much whatever I want, in the way I want, and on the subjects I want.

I don't expect too many people will actually read it, but that's ok—that's not why I put it together!

Getting in Touch

If you are here reading this however, hi! I don't have a comments system, but you can always hit me up on social media or send me an email.
