Testing Webmentions
I think I’ve actually managed to set up webmentions. The site has passed a test for incoming webmentions, this post is to test the outgoing.

It’s very rare that a celebrity death gets to me. “Celeb” culture as a whole is a complete turn off to me and I’ll never understand people who bathe in it. This one hits different though.
Today we lost a legendary icon of music and a founding father of metal. Ozzy Osbourne died today, a mere 3 weeks after the momentous event that was his final concert.
Since I last posted, I’ve now added categories and a tags page to the site, both of which are available on the sidebar. Having a super simple layout is all well and good, but once there are more posts here it will quickly become difficult to find anything without a method of navigation. The theme I’m using is slightly outdated so it was a bit of a headache to implement, but I got there in the end!
Overall I’m pretty happy with the progress I’ve made! I won’t pretend it wasn’t without headaches, there definitely were a few of those along the way, but it’s all in place now and I really love it! I might (probably will) tweak things here and there in the coming weeks, but the design is a perfect blend of modern and retro.
Carl and I were married on 18 July 1998, so today marks 27 years of marriage! Alas, I don’t have a digital copy of any of our wedding photos so you’ll just have to use your imagination, but suffice to say, we’re old!
It’s amazing how quickly the time passes. It’s a strange one - on the one hand, we’ve been married for so long and been through so much together I can barely remember what life without him was like. On the other, well it really doesn’t feel like 27 years.
This is my very first post on this blog - welcome!
This isn’t my first time using Hugo, but it’s been a few years so I’m a little rusty with it. I’m excited to get started again! I love the simplicity of Hugo, it suits me for a personal blog where I’ll likely not do much but dump random thoughts and information. It’s also costing me nothing to host (thanks Netlify!) so that’s always a big plus.
